Mangalore, a town situated on the shores of the Arabian Sea and the administrative headquarters of Dakshina Kannada District, portrays a panorama of beautiful sandy beaches, ancient temples and rich cultural heritage and is a picture of Green India. This city is famous for its port since 6 A.D. It is also close to many tourist attractions like Bekal Fort, Kudroli Temple, the Light House, Saint Mary's Island and Pilikula Zoological and Manasa Water Park. The cultural heritage of Mangalore can be witnessed in the folk dance of Manglore, ‘Yakshagana'. The mouth watering delicacies of Mangalore, especially sea-food cooked in local spices is tantalizing to the taste buds. Manglore being a hub of educational institutes boasts of 5 Dental, 6 Medical and numerous Allied Health Science Institutes. The venue for the convention, the NITTE University campus which is located on top of a hillock surrounded by natural green vegetation, governs a medical, dental and other Allied health science institutes.
